LIGNIA Yacht at MYS 2019

Monaco Yacht Show

Our team were exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show for the very first time this year.

With a stand in the Darse Sud tent within the Superyacht UK pavilion, we displayed our LIGNIA Yacht product to shipbuilders, yacht owners, designers and naval architects.

LIGNIA Yacht stand

As the proven sustainable alternative to teak, LIGNIA Yacht was received with praise for its similarities to the more traditional timber used for yacht decking. Many visitors to our stand were surprised to discover that LIGNIA Yacht is not made from teak and, in fact, starts life as a Radiata pine tree on FSC® managed plantations. We take this as a compliment!

We use real wood rather than synthetic materials for our LIGNIA Yacht product and this was also welcomed. We know from numerous conversations with yacht owners and builders that natural products like real wood add a certain warmth to a yacht. We met plenty of visitors who commended our process for modifying a sustainable softwood into a wood that looks and performs just like a tropical hardwood and were pleased to know they could maintain LIGNIA Yacht using the same methods they use on teak decks.

Our team also provided a beautiful deck for the Burgess Yachts hospitality stand. The deck was made from LIGNIA Yacht wood and produced by Moody Decking in Fareham. It was enjoyed by people stopping for a coffee break or having an evening drink.

The show itself was impressive with 125 superyachts and 600 exhibitors to see, all set in the beautiful location of Port Hercules in Monaco. We enjoyed the sunshine which made a change to the downpour that was going on back home in Wales.

Finally, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Superyacht UK for providing us with an exhibition space – it was great to meet others in the Superyacht UK pavilion and we’ve made more great contacts within the amazing British community of yacht suppliers.

See you all at METSTRADE - Stand CMP.15.EL!
