LIGNIA launches States-side in Las Vegas
LIGNIA Wood Company, the wood modification company based in South Wales, has announced that it is launching its operations for LIGNIA and LIGNIA Fire in the USA this July. The company has already launched its LIGNIA product range in the UK and Europe via major trade shows covering the yacht-building markets and land-based construction and is now opening in the USA.
The firm, which modifies FSC®-certified softwood into wood with the properties and appearance of hardwood, is exhibiting at the AWFS Fair at the Las Vegas Convention Center from the 17-20 July. The AWFS is the Association of Woodworking and Furniture Suppliers and their Fair is held every other year in Vegas, bringing in thousands of timber and wood-working manufacturing experts from all over the USA and beyond. The LIGNIA and LIGNIA Fire products will be the focus of the launch for the company, which is sponsoring the Best Designed Student Chair at the Fresh Wood competition during the show, a highly popular event.
Steve Rogers, LIGNIA's Commercial Director, is confident this is the right time to go to the US, now that LIGNIA's commercial manufacturing is taking off: “We now have two major-league timber distribution companies working with us to supply the construction trade in the US and we also have a real competitive advantage with our LIGNIA Fire product, which is suitable for all types of millwork including flooring and sidings and which is classified as Class A in the ASTM – E 84 standards for flame retardancy.”
