Can you tell the difference between LIGNIA Yacht and teak?

LIGNIA Yacht & teak

There are only a few days to go until the first sailing yacht in the UK with a LIGNIA Yacht deck is due to be launched.

The Spirit 50CR, built by Spirit Yachts - a world-leading designer and builder - will be showcased at the Southampton Boat Show from Friday 13th September.

As we prepare for the Spirit 50CR to be unveiled, we reflected on our positive experience at the Superyacht Design Forum earlier this year.

The event was a great way for us to showcase our LIGNIA Yacht deck and introduce our real wood alternative to naval architects and designers.

We prepared two decks at our stand – one made of LIGNIA Yacht and one made of teak – for attendees to walk on.

Both decks were supplied by Moody Yachts and were used to demonstrate the similarities in aesthetic between LIGNIA and teak.

We’re proud to offer a sustainable alternative to the more traditional yacht deck material, using only wood sourced from FSC® softwood plantations.

However, the appearance and aesthetics are so similar that some superyacht architects and designers couldn’t quite tell the difference.

Can you tell which one’s which?
