LIGNIA Yacht put to the test in Norway

Over the past few months, our award-winning LIGNIA Yacht product has been tested in one of the harshest marine environments – a Norwegian winter.

Sandoy Baatdekk, Norway’s largest manufacturer of yacht decks, is carrying out the testing on its own sea-facing rigs. The company has a close relationship with our European distributor, Global Timber, who provide LIGNIA Yacht to countries in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

According to Jarle Kristofferson, CEO of Sandoy Baatdekk, “LIGNIA looks great so far during the winter when glued to a solid base". LIGNIA's modified timber has been sealed with Teakseal and has shown a greater hold than the traditional decking material of teak.

LIGNIA Yacht is our award-winning modified timber that comes from sustainable sources. It’s designed to withstand harsh marine environments, from hot summers to icy winters. Due to its Class 1 durability and small movement properties, the timber is ideal for yacht decks, no matter where it is used in the world, from the sunny Med to chilly Norway and everywhere in between.
