LIGNIA given new FSC accreditation

We are delighted to announce that for the first time, we have been accredited as an individual organisation by FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council).

Working with NEPCON, a major accreditation body, the certification secures our status as a highly responsible company.

FSC is an international organisation which promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. Their signature tick enables customers to choose products from businesses that adhere to such practices, ensuring that the world’s forests will be kept alive for generations to come.

Dale Warren, Purchasing Manager for LIGNIA, says:

‘To be accredited, we must demonstrate a systematic approach that we can account for within the LIGNIA Management System, integrated with ISO9000 Standard. We are audited annually to prevent mismanagement and adhere to FSC responsible purchasing policy and its key principles.

‘There is a lawful obligation under EUTR – European Timber Regulation to comply and ensure we take full responsibility for risk assessment through the chain from Forest to Store.

'But we also have a Company policy to ensure we only source from sustainable sources. FSC remains the most significant NGO and symbolises a commitment we continue to support.’

Commercial Director, Steve Rogers, also commented: 'We are very proud to carry the FSC tick, which is recognised globally, as it symbolises our commitment to the next generation. Our responsible practices are helping to contribute to a bigger mission – one to keep our tropical rainforests thriving for many more years.'

Deforestation has devastated forests and communities worldwide and we’re on a mission to change that by providing our customers with modified wood that is FSC certified. Browse our range of products, made using high-quality timber from responsible sources.
