LIGNIA Fire wins The Architect’s Newspaper Best of Product Award, Timber Category

Our LIGNIA Fire product has scooped its first major award in the U.S. this week.

Taking first place in the timber category, LIGNIA Fire impressed the judges at The Architect’s Newspaper ‘Best of Products Awards’ 2020.

A jury of 12 leading architects, engineers, construction, design professionals, and The Architect’s Newspaper editors deemed the flame-retardant wood product the winner.

Successful U.S. launch

We are delighted that after a successful launch in the U.S., LIGNIA Fire is recognized for its high-performance characteristics.

Its built-in flame-retardant properties, combined with its Class 1 durability and sustainable credentials make LIGNIA Fire a unique real-wood product alternative in the U.S. market.

Recently achieving a Class A flame-spread rating, extended to 30 minutes (ASTM E2768), LIGNIA Fire is now being specified for major projects across North America, including the new SYMBI HOMES installation in Mount Rainier, MD.

With no need for costly after-market fire treatments, the product has proved popular with architects in the U.S., and just recently received a Special Mention at the 2020 Architizer A+Awards – an accolade only given to the top 5% of entrants.

Available now in the U.S.

Suitable for interior and exterior use, LIGNIA Fire is also approved for use in schools across the U.S., passing the CDPH Emissions Compliance Test.

Applications include decking and siding, as well as millwork projects such as windows and doors.
