The LIGNIA team exhibited at the Surface Design Show for the second year running in February. The show is based in Islington - a hot spot for designers and architects in London’s design district. With over 180 exhibitor stands over three floors, the show offers a variety of choice for promising and experienced architects and designers. This year, the show particularly focused on sustainability – a topic that’s very important to us.
Over the course of the exhibition, the LIGNIA team learnt about the many interesting projects that architects and designers were working on as well as the growing demand for a sustainable choice of wood. We were more than happy to share the LIGNIA wood story with attendees, explaining the many benefits of LIGNIA wood including its pH neutral status, Class 1 durability and above ground 50-year warranty against rot and fungal decay. The beautiful, rich colour of LIGNIA adds a natural warmth to any interior or exterior project and visitors were enticed to our stand by the gorgeous wood we had on display.
We were joined by members of the Timber Connection team – our UK distributor for LIGNIA wood.
Timber Connection are a leading supplier of commercially imported hardwoods and premium grade softwoods to the importer/merchant sector within the UK and Ireland. Working closely with the team allows us to bring LIGNIA wood to our customers in the British Isles. We have Fernleigh Design to thank for our wonderful stand - their craftmanship and skills turn initial concepts into glamorous exhibits.
It was fantastic to see that the show and many of the exhibitors were so focused on sustainability. Our wood is sourced from managed FSC® plantations meaning they are legal and sustainable, and we take great care to be as environmentally friendly as we possibly can. It was exciting to see the appetite for LIGNIA from architects and designers. Our team will now be busy getting samples out to customers over the next couple of weeks, before we prepare for our next show in Los Angeles. See you all next time!
