Contrary to popular belief there is an abundance of timber worldwide but most of it is softwood. Whilst softwood is suitable for many applications it is hardwood that delivers performance and beauty. Hardwood can take decades to grow until it is ready for harvest and the temptation is to plunder ancient resources for premium timber and in doing so this causes destruction on an unimaginable scale.
Lignia is a premium timber with the weight, density, colour and performance of beautiful hardwood but is created from knot free, sawn plantation softwood that is grown extensively in well managed forests providing a premium timber to satisfy market demands without the need to decimate natural forests vital to world ecology.
